On the 24th April edition of Monday Night RAW, Triple H made a massive announcement. The Game has been teasing a huge announcement for some time, which made the whole WWE Universe curious as to what it is. And last night, he finally broke the news: A new World Champion would be crowned on 27th May, at the Night of Champions premium live event.
The Game firstly talks about the Undisputed WWE Champion, Roman Reigns. He says that Reigns had signed a deal with WWE that didn’t require him to defend his title on a daily basis. Although it was a pretty good deal for him, it was rather bad for WWE. Therefore, they have decided that after the draft, Reigns can take both his titles to any brand he wants to. But the other remaining brand would need a new champion. And The Game revealed the solution for that- to crown a brand new WWE World Champion!
Triple H unveiled the first look at the new WWE World Heavyweight Championship. It has a similar design to the original World Heavyweight Championship of the Attitude Era. The design is definitely nostalgic and brings back pleasant memories for a lot of WWE fans. Triple H further added that the new champion would be crowned at WWE’s next premium live event, Night of Champions.
The debut of the new championship got a ton of positive feedback from fans. People have been celebrating the return of the prestigious title all over social media. Many claimed that it felt like a breath of fresh air, after seeing Roman Reigns holding on to the two top prizes in the company for a long time.
