Daniil Medvedev, the current World No 3 is famous for dropping epic one-liners and savage comments on the field. He’s notorious for calling out players, referees, fans, and even match organizers. The Russian has done it once again, this time it’s a war cry for his rivals and opponents.
The 27-year-old Russian player had a good 2023 season where he won 5 titles including two Masters 1000 and two ATP Tour 500 tournaments.
However, he could not win a Grand Slam this year and featured in only one Final at the US Open. These performances were enough to grant him the season-end World 3 rank but definitely left him craving for more.
The Russian was seen dropping a vicious quote today in a documentary trailer. The documentary is none other than Netflix’s Break Point: Season 2. In a small clip of Medvedev, he can be heard saying :
“We wanna destroy each other.”
While the context of the quote remains unknown, there’s a lot of buzz being created around the release of the documentary. There has been no official announcement for the release of the show, but the trailer has garnered the tennis world’s attention.
Daniil Medvedev scares Andrey Rublev with a wild swing
A clip surfaced on several social media platforms where Daniil Medvedev can be seen swinging as his compatriot Andrey Rublev. All in a humorous spirit obviously.
Daniil Medvedev and Andrey Rublev are two best friends who are always seen hanging out and goofing around each other. They grew up together playing tennis in Russia and have formed an inseparable bond over the years. Their friendship can be best summarized by a quote from Medvedev himself.
“I think we’re really close friends. I think we have a great relationship even if on the court we’re big competitors, I think nothing is going to, let’s call it, come between us to separate us in real life. We’re really close.”
A similar incident unfolded last week when the duo could be seen engaged in friendly banter. In what seems like Daniil trying to hit Andrey Rublev with a big swing at a tennis ball straight to his face. The apparent wide swing also scared Rublev as he rebounded the ball toward Daniil.
A social media account @dmedvedevfans shared it on X (Twitter). He captioned the tweet with
“An ordinary day in life of Daniil and Andrey 🤣”
