Jessica Pegula played her last match of the round-robin stage in the ongoing WTA Finals. She was up against Maria Sakkari and won the match comfortably 6-3, 6-2.
Jessica Pegula made her debut in the WTA Finals last year, but she lost all the matches in the group stage. Two of her opponents from this year’s group were also part of the same group last year. It was Maria Sakkari,Aryna Sabalenka and Ons Jabeur in the group. This year she made an epic comeback winning all three matches.
But she did not limit her from playing the doubles. Last year she played in both singles and doubles categories and it is no different this year. She was paired against Coco Gauff and couldn’t move ahead of the round-robin stage.
This year she is the top seed in doubles paired with Coco Gauff again but the result doesn’t seem to improve. She lost both of her matches in the group stage and has no hope of making it to the semifinal this year. She is just hoping to end her campaign with a win in the last match.
They lost their first WTA Finals doubles match against G. Dabrowski and E. Routliffe in straight sets. They gave a tough fight and pushed the match to the decider against B. Krejcikova and K. Siniakova 6-3, 5-7, 6-10 but ended up losing again.
In a post-match interview with the Tennis Channel today after her win against Maria Sakkari, with some rain in Cancun, Jessica was asked about her doubles match tomorrow. And she mentioned that she wouldn’t mind if it rains during her match and it is already difficult to play in such a windy condition. This question came after the match between Aryna Sabalenka and Elena Rybakina was suspended for some time due to rain.

Jessica Pegula opens up about her mom’s Korean origin
Jessica Pegula won a WTA tournament in South Korea and then what we got to know was amazing.
Jessica Pegula won a WTA 250 Tournament in Korea last month. She defeated Yue Yuan 6-2, 6-3. After winning the title, she shared her connection with Korea. She said that her mother is Korean and she regrets not being able to speak Korean. But she loves to eat Korean food such as Kimchi and Korean barbeque.
Her mother, Kim Pegula was born in Seoul, South Korea in 1969. Since she had no record of her biological parents, she was brought and adopted by a couple in the USA when she was 5 years old. She grew up in Fairport, New York, and completed her studies at Houghton College. She interacted with Terry Pegula when she had gone for an interview to work as a waitress at a restaurant in Belfast. They both started seeing each other and she joined Terry’s natural gas company. Then they got married to each other after some time.
