This World Cup is going crazy, Asian, and African teams surprising football fans with their game. Whether it’s Japan who tops their group despite having Germany and Spain in that group or Morocco who qualify for knockout stages after 36 years. This World Cup is just too much!
So, this World Cup gave us another shock last night by eliminating Uruguay on the group stage. However, Uruguay won that match but still, they lost as South Korea won the game against Portugal 2-1 and Uruguay needed to win their game by 3 goals but only be able to score 2, hence South Korea advanced to R16.
What Luis Suarez Said on the elimination
Uruguay is officially out of the World Cup 2022 and Luis Suarez is also saying his goodbye to World Cup Football, but this is not how he has planned to give a farewell to this competition.
He said, “I feel sadness and disappointment. My son is also leaving the stadium with the image of that sadness, so for a father it is difficult, but he has to face the situation that he has.”
Luis Suarez also mentioned the referee’s decision not to give them a penalty. He said, “I see a penalty for Cavani because he is cut off by the defender and he puts his body in front of him. Darwin’s is very clear too”.
He subsequently revealed that he sought to see his wife and children after the game to embrace them, but FIFA rejected him.
