With almost half of the year behind us, we have been blessed with the new kits of the teams participating in the Premier League. Many kits were subjected to complete changes while many remained the same. Here are the home kits of the teams participating in the Premier League for the upcoming season.
Manchester United
Keeping up to its reputation, Manchester United stayed solid with its basic kit design and did only a few minor changes to it. The club’s new home kit saw a red triangular pattern added to its collar to stay true to its name as Red Devils.
Not to forget the replacement of white stripes on the shoulders with a more bold black stripes pattern. The other sponsor logo still remains static and makes the overall look of the kit cleaner.
Crystal Palace
One of the home kits that were completely transformed for this season includes Crystal Palace. However, their color scheme remained the same duo of red and blue. But the new white collars and arm end add contrast to the colors.
The blue and red stripes are not rectangular anymore. A scribbled striped pattern forms around the whole jersey. Also, the sponsor logo is placed properly to make the colors more vibrant.
Manchester City
Remaining solid on their color scheme of sky blue, Manchester City recently put out their home kit for the current season. The new kit has a cleaner look to it. With the new brown collars, their sky blue branding just feels better.
Not to forget the white band between the brown patch that just adds to it all.
Liverpool
Liverpool took a step further going into the new season and launched their new home kits. The new kits are a physical manifestation of their nickname ‘The Reds’.
The previous orange bands on the collar and sleeves were replaced by red to make the whole kit red. Also, the diagonal lines pattern was removed to make it a plain red kit.
Arsenal
The Gunners did not make any noticeable changes to their home kit this season. Except for the new white collar instead of a black and red striped collar.
We also see the black stripes on the shoulder region replaced by white stripes. A final minor change includes the black stripes on the sleeve ends being removed completely.
Aston Villa
Aston Villa’s home kit for the current season saw a series of changes to it. Firstly the black stripes pattern on the major portion of the jersey was replaced by a less visible arrow pattern.
The collars and sleeves were made a lot cleaner by removing the black bands on them and making them all blue.
Tottenham Hotspur
The all-white home kit of The Spurs was accustomed to some minor changes. However, the overall look of the home kit was enhanced by a large factor.
The unadorned collars were replaced by a sandwich pattern with lime color in between the black. The same was done to the sleeves as well.
Chelsea
The blues recent kit shows a plain blue jersey, unlike the previous chequered one. The whole kit is kinda bland and not that catchy to the eyes. However, the thing to look out for is their white collar with a sky blue design on it.
AFC Bournemouth
The home kit for AFC Bournemouth saw a major upgrade in the looks section. The very lame black and red vertical stripes pattern was exchanged for a fresh zigzag pattern.
Also, the black collar was removed and a red collar was seen taking its place on the new home kit.
Nottingham Forest
The Forest completely got rid of the pattern on their body and opted for a cleaner look. They also got rid of any white stripes on the kit and went all red for the new season.
The collars and sleeve ends were made a little darker to highlight the colors. However, the only color other than red now stands just with the sponsor logos.
West Ham United
While many teams discarded the rounded collars, West Ham went back to the circular collars with a shade of blue on them. The overall base color remained the same brown
However, major color changes were seen on the shoulder and arm area. The blue band on the arm and shoulder was completely removed. While adding a confusing pattern in its place.
Wolverhampton Wanderers
The Wolverhampton Wanderers home kit was not subjected to any heavy changes. The color scheme remained the same yellow and black. However, the black pattern on the shoulder region was completely eliminated.
Also, the black patch on the waist was replaced with polka dots. The region looks more like a leopard rather than a wolf.
Leicester City
Adidas definitely took it easy to design this one. The new look of the team looks like a copy of the rivals Chelsea. The designers really didn’t put much thought into it and just added some stripes to an all-blue shirt.
However, their home kit for the previous season was pretty cool with the collarless v-necks and a pattern all along their body to enhance their look.
Everton
Another all-blue home kit that opted for a cleaner look was that of Everton. The designers discarded the last year’s pattern and opted for a less visible and cleaner web-like pattern.
The new kit also got rid of the previous yellow colors and instead limited its colors to just blue and white. Henceforth the collars in the new kit are found to be white instead of yellow.
Newcastle United
The overall look of the new kit is the same as that of the previous one. However, the width of the black stripes was reduced and the number of stripes increased. Another major change includes the removal of the buttoned collar.
It was replaced by a round neck but with the same pattern on it.
Southampton United
On the contrary, Southampton’s new kit increased the stripe’s width resulting in less number of stripes than before. The arrow pattern was completely eliminated and instead a more clean pattern was used.
The v-neck collar was also taken care of by replacing it with a round neck collar. Also, the shoulders and arms no longer remain red rather they are now white.
Brentford
The designers at Brentford surely love it stagnant and static. The designers at Brentford lost all their abilities to think creatively and stuck with the same design as the previous one.
There was not a single change made to the kit. The kit still displays the red and white stripes all along the body.
