LA Knight is a superstar that has all a wrestler needs to succeed in WWE- a good heel personality, reactions from fans, and good in-ring and mic skills. So why is the 40-year-old superstar booked so poorly on SmackDown?
LA Knight is arguably one of the most talented superstars on WWE’s main roster. It can be argued that although his booking on NXT was better than his current booking, it still wasn’t good enough for what LA Knight had to offer.
Although he did receive a push in NXT, all that went away when he was called up to the main roster. Knight had only a handful of wins since his main roster debut in 2022, not to mention the losing streak that he is carrying around currently.
Quite possibly the most noteworthy moment of Knight’s career on the main roster, was when The Undertaker returned as The American Badass and helped Bray Wyatt take him down. This is how poorly he is booked.
Despite being involved in noticeable storylines, he has yet to be taken as a serious challenge. His only wins in recent memory are against Rey Mysterio and an enhancement talent called Ren Jones. And both of them were in this year.
His last win against a full-time WWE star was in October of 2022. LA Knight has been reduced to the position of a jobber, and fans are tired of it. He lost twice to Xavier Woods now and even lost to Kofi Kingston before his injury. When Triple H took over, it seemed that things might finally get better for LA Knight.
Yet, he has been on a losing streak, week after week. The WWE Universe are voicing their displeasure with his booking on Twitter, claiming that WWE needs to end his losing streak. He is currently at a record of 2-23, meaning he has over 23 losses, which is the worst record for wrestling this year.
LA Knight’s most important victory
Quite possibly the most noteworthy victory in his career, LA Knight defeated Rey Mysterio a few weeks ago on SmackDown. However, even that victory was due to Dominik Mysterio’s interference.
Following his controversial win against Rey Mysterio, fans had hoped to see LA Knight bounce back from his losing streak and finally get a well-deserved push. However, it seems like that win was just to further the storyline of Rey Mysterio vs Dominik Mysterio, as his losing streak is back again. This week, he lost again to Xavier Woods via rollup. It looks like things won’t be getting any better for Knight anytime soon, at least until the WWE management finally realizes his worth.
