Arsenal‘s Pablo Mari has gotten stabbed in an attack in the supermarket. Alongside the defender, six other people also suddenly from injuries while one of them died later.
The terrifying incident took place in a Carrefour near Milan, Italy this Thursday. All the victims were quickly taken to the hospital but one of the victims who was in his 30s died quickly. While three of the victims are also in very serious condition.
Defender Pablo Mari got punched straight into his face before he got stabbed in his back, he suffered a huge wound there. He will require proper surgery for the while he already received stitches for the lips.
Pablo Mari is currently on loan from Arsenal to Monza Chiefs. He opened up about the incident and told everyone that he was shopping with his wife and son when the incident occurred. Monza Chiefs CEO Adriano Galliani and coach Raffaele Palladino quickly went to the hospital after they got the news.
What does Pablo Mari say about the brutal incident?
Mari is quoted as saying to Galliani and Palladino: “I was lucky, because I saw a person die in front of me.”
“I had the trolley, with the baby inside. I felt excruciating pain in my back. After that I saw this man stab a person in the throat, in front of me. I’m fine, I’ll be on the field on Monday.”
Monza Chiefs CEO Adriano Galliani later said that what happened was dreadful and the store cashier also died. Galliani also said that Pablo Mari’s height helped him at the point because the person would have wanted to attack the player’s throat directly.
The CEO also showed his concern about the Defender by saying “Unfortunately he also saw the criminal stab someone in the throat. He saw everything that happened and it was deeply disturbing.”
A statement on Arsenal’s website read: “We are all shocked to hear the dreadful news about the stabbing in Italy, which has put a number of people in hospital including our on-loan centre-back Pablo Mari.”
