Young Barca star Pedro Gonzalez Lopez or Pedri did a candid interview with MARCA. In this interview, he was asked about many topics related to the upcoming FIFA World Cup, from his favorite World Cup moments to how he is preparing for the World Cup and Pedri answered all these questions beautifully.
During this interview, he was asked about Lionel Messi, and his answer impressed football fans as he showed true fandom. He told MARCA “I think Messi deserves a World Cup. Hopefully, we win it, but if Spain doesn’t win it, let him win it with Argentina.”
So, Pedri wants Spain to win the World Cup but if not, he will be more than happy to see his Idol Lionel Messi lift that prestigious cup. He thinks that Messi deserves to win at least one World Cup in his great career.
Messi has already won as many trophies as possible both Individual and team cups, both with his clubs and his international team Argentina but there is only one cup left and that is the World Cup. The current Argentinian team looks strong and there are high chances that they might win this time but that is not going to be easy and that’s what makes this cup so huge. But if we talk about Pedri he would like Leo to win the cup.
Pedri on the favourite teams to face in the World Cup Final
In this interview he was also asked who would he like to face in the World Cup.
So, Pedri wants to play in the final as it was his dream to be in the World Cup final as representing your country on such a big stage is really a dream for many young footballers. So, like others, Pedri wanted to play a World Cup final. He did not just want to play final, he also mentioned the teams he wanted to play against with and that’s Argentina for Lionel Messi and the Netherlands for Frankie De Jong.
He told in that interview, “I dream of playing the World Cup final. I would like a game against Argentina for Leo or against the Netherlands for Frankie.”
So, Pedri is all set to be in the World Cup, he dreamt of playing the final, he dreamt of winning the cup, and he even chooses his favorite opponent. This 19-year-old is truly living his dream, and we all hope the best for him and his team.
