Over all these years, there have been a lot of black female wrestlers in WWE. Some of them have risen to great heights, being some of WWE’s greatest champions of all time.
In this list, we are counting down black female WWE superstars, from the ’90s to present day.
10. Jacqueline
Jacqueline is a two-time Women’s World Champion. She won the women’s championship twice in the Attitude Era, once in 1998 and the second time in 2000. She also won the cruiserweight championship once.
Jacqueline was an experience wrestler before joining WWE. She was also inducted into WWE’s Hall of Fame. Overall, she is one of the most celebrated black female wrestlers in WWE.
9. Kharma
Kia Stevens, aka Kharma is known for being an unstoppable dominant force of nature in WWE. She began her wrestling career in 2002 and a decade later, she signed with WWE.
Kharma famously entered the Men’s Royal Rumble match in 2012. She had a major impact on WWE’s Women’s division. Fans believed that there was truly no one that could stop her, except maybe Beth Phoenix. She definitely made her mark as one of the dominant black female wrestlers in the world of professional wrestling.
8. Jazz
Jazz is a two-time WWE Women’s World Champion as well. She debuted originally in ECW.
Jazz defeated Trish Stratus twice to win the Women’s Championship. Although her title reigns weren’t long, she won over the crowd with her matches with Stratus. She is also known for her time in Impact Wrestling and NWA, where she held the NWA Women’s Championship for over 900 days.
7. Kristal Marshall
Kristal Marshall is a retired WWE superstar and model. She is best known for her time in WWE SmackDown and TNA.
Marshall made her debut in 2006, where she defeated Jillian Hill. She had a short run in WWE, and was released in 2007. Despite her short career, she is regarded as one of the best black female wrestlers in WWE.
6. Eden
Eden, better known as Brandi Rhodes started her career in WWE. She started out in FCW and eventually made her way on the main roster as a ring announcer.
She married Cody Rhodes during her tenure in WWE. She also left the company with Cody in 2016. Brandi Rhodes has now made a name for herself as a chief brand officer of AEW. Brandi is one of the best black female wrestlers, having experience in other promotions like ROH and Impact Wrestling.
5. Cameron
Ariane Andrew, better known as Cameron in WWE, made her in-ring debut in 2011. She was also a part of the Funkadactyls alongside Naomi.
Cameron is one of the greatest black female WWE wrestlers. She was a main cast member of Total Divas as well. Although she wasn’t booked well by WWE, she did impress the crowd with her in-ring skills. After being released from the company in 2016, she later reappeared in the 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble match, where she would face her former Funkadactyls teammate, Naomi. She would be later eliminated by Sonya Deville.
4. Alicia Fox
Alicia Fox has been with WWE for a long time, with her debut dating back to June 13, 2008 on SmackDown.
Although Fox hasn’t been involved in major storylines, she achieved the accolade of being the first ever black female wrestler to win a championship during a Royal Rumble match. This event took place at 2021 Royal Rumble. She also appeared in the 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble match, where she lasted over 6 minutes. Alicia Fox is also a Divas Champion, a title which she won in 2010. Despite making sporadic appearances in the past few years, Fox is undoubtedly one of the best black female wrestlers.
3. Naomi
One of the greatest black female wrestlers, Naomi won over the fans with her positive attitude and her great athleticism.
Naomi signed with WWE in 2009 and has been with the company till last year, when she and Sasha Banks walked out of WWE. Naomi has a lot of achievements in WWE, being the inaugural FCW Divas Champion, a two-time SmackDown Women’s Champion and Women’s Tag Team Champion. She is currently married to Jimmy Uso. Naomi recently confirmed that she has parted her ways with WWE.
2. Bianca Belair
Bianca Belair is one of the most talented female wrestler and one of the greatest black female wrestlers of all time. The extremely talented Belair was a huge success in NXT. After being called up to the main roster, she instantly rose to popularity.
Bianca Belair faced Sasha Banks at WrestleMania 37 for the RAW Women’s Championship. Belair emerged victorious, but lost it to Becky Lynch at SummerSlam. She is the current RAW Women’s Champion and recently defended the title successfully against Asuka at WrestleMania 39.
1. Sasha Banks
Quite possibly the most popular black female wrestler in WWE, Sasha Banks is the pioneer of WWE’s Women’s Division.
Her rivalry with arch-nemesis Charlotte Flair is regarded as one of the best storylines of WWE’s Women’s Evolution Era. Banks was quite popular in the 2016-2020 era. She is mostly known for her bossy gimmick and her incredible in-ring performance. Despite her success, Banks walked out of the company along with her tag team partner, Naomi. However, during her tenure in the company, Sasha Banks has cemented her legacy as the best black female wrestler in the history of WWE.
