Roger Federer who was recently present at the Halle Open admitted to checking scores every day even now.
The 2023 Halle Open marked its 30th anniversary and to make it special they invited the Swiss Legend Roger Federer who has won it 10 times. To make it more special, they declared June 21 as the ‘Roger Federer Day’ for his achievements, especially at the ATP 500 tournament. He was welcomed with a standing ovation as he made his way to the court.
It has been tough for him to let it go overnight after he retired from tennis last year at the Laver Cup. He has been associated with various tennis-related activities and mentioned in an interview after the event that he keeps checking the scores frequently during the day even now.
He also mentioned that sometimes it is difficult for him when he is traveling and spending time with his kids. He keeps updated by watching the highlight reels of the matches to get an idea when he doesn’t get the time to watch the full match.
I’m very surprised at how often and how frequently I check the scores, three times a day maybe, then of course, all of a sudden, there are days where I check out for a week. I’m with the kids, and then I’m traveling, and I’m gone, and you know, you forget about everything around yourself.
But for the most part, I’m actually into it. I really think there’s some great matches going on. I try to check some highlights reels more than watching games per se because my life is also a little bit busy, but I’m really entirely happy.

Former NBA player names Roger Federer as his go-to rescue man from a deserted Island
In a recent exclusive interview with EssentiallySports, former American pro Jason Collins, present at the highly popular Desert Smash event in La Quinta Resort, California, shed light on the enduring appeal of the 20-time Grand Slam champion.
During the interview, Collins was tasked with selecting a tennis player with whom he would prefer to be stranded on a deserted island. Surprisingly, his unequivocal choice was Roger Federer.
When asked about his pick for a desert island companion, Collins humorously remarked, “Someone who could get me off (laughs). I don’t know who that person would be. I mean someone who people would send the helicopter for. Roger Federer, I mean they would send the helicopter to get him off right?”
Despite a 13-year-long NBA career with seven different teams, Collins’s unparalleled love for tennis is evident. He once disclosed that he started playing at a club near Miami in Coral Gables just to catch a glimpse of Venus Williams.
