Martina Navratilova recently expressed her anger towards the speech by Congressman Tim Walberg, who expressed his support for Uganda’s new anti-homosexuality law.
United States Representative, Tim Walberg recently visited Uganda in October. He addressed the National Prayer Breakfast and praised the Ugandan government for passing a law that condemned homosexuality and gave severe penalties, including the death penalty, as punishment for the act.
The congressman went so far as to disregard the perspectives of international entities like the United Nations, the World Health Organization, and the World Bank, deeming them as “worthless”. Furthermore, he supposedly urged fellow lawmakers to dismiss appeals from global leaders, to overturn the law. This also included the current President of the United States of America, Joe Biden.
Martina Navratilova, a former World No. 1 tennis player and LGBTQ+ rights activist, reacted to the congressman’s speech in an angry and pitiful way.
“What a sick f..k.”, she tweeted out reacting to it.
