Daniil Medvedev expressed his frustration with Tennis as a sport and ridicules the rules during his Indian Wells Finals matchup.
The World No. 3 was up against Carlos Alcaraz at the final matchup of the Indian Wells Masters tournament. The two were meeting at the same tournament at the same level for the second consecutive year.
In the first set that led to a tiebreaker, Carlos was leading 3-2 when the ball nearly touched the line which raised a controversy amidst the match. Daniil wanted to check on the ball replay but the point was already given to Alcaraz which very much sealed the deal for the first set.
Daniil, as frustrated as he was from the crowd’s constant support towards the Spaniard, let out his frustration in the form of words that were deemed unprofessional.
In the heat of the moment, Medvedev said, “Tennis is a s**t sport.”

This was not well received by the fans on the internet as they took no time in clipping the footage and started giving negative reactions to it. People named him as a “sore loser” and a “crybaby” on the internet.

While some fans were perturbed by his behavior and wanted the ATP to fine and ban him from the Tour, there were some who were also in support of the Russian.
Yea he was not wrong, he just wanted to double check if the ball touched the line or not . And yes ball was in and but point was won by Carlos.

“I have no regrets,” Daniil Medvedev after losing to Carlos Alcaraz at the Indian Wells Masters Finals for the second time in a row
Daniil Medvedev reveals that he has no regrets despite his loss against Carlos Alcaraz at the Indian Wells Masters final.
After losing to the Spaniard in two straight sets, this marked his second consecutive loss at the same tournament’s finals matchup. However, when asked about how he felt about the loss, Medvedev stood with his chin up and said that he’s got no regrets after the match.
“I’m really, really happy with two weeks. Today, the first thing I asked myself in the locker room was I don’t feel I have any regrets. ‘Do you have any regrets?’ My coach said. Yeah, we can talk about one shot here and there, but in general the match was not bad. He’s playing good,” the World No. 3 said at the post-match conference.
“He managed in the first set at one moment to raise his level. I kind of managed to be there and to try to catch his level, but I was just a little bit down. In the end, this down was going down, down, down, and he was going up, up, up. So, the result is not expected but is a fair result for the match that it was. But I’m happy,” Medvedev added.
