The sensational rapper, Snoop Dogg hosted both nights of WrestleMania and was even involved in a match with The Miz on last night’s Showcase of The Immortals.
Lately, WWE has been encouraging famous musicians and YouTubers to step into the squared circle. This was the case with Snoop Dogg, who was the host for both nights of WrestleMania 39. The WWE Universe was in full support of Snoop Dogg as he received some of the biggest pops of the night.
Snoop was heavily involved with both WrestleManias, as he drove Rey Mysterio to the ring during his entrance. Also, since The Miz didn’t have any opponent to face at The Show of Shows, Snoop set him up in a match with the NFL star, Pat McAfee. The Miz was apparently not prepared to fight. The match was ultimately won by McAfee, when George Kittle, another NFL star interfered.
On night 2, Shane McMahon made a surprise return to WWE. His return prompted Snoop Dogg to sanction a match between The A-Lister and Shane O’Mac. The match thus started with Shane unloading a fury of fists on Miz. However, during the match, Shane suffered a knee injury while attempting a leapfrog. He was unable to get back up on his feet and was carried out of the arena. Fans were confused as to what to expect.
Snoop quickly came to the rescue by inserting himself into the match with Miz. It might be surprising, but Snoop actually won the fight. He hit Miz with a few punches and laid him out. He then landed a “Snoop’s Elbow” on The A-Lister, which seemed to be an improvisation of The Rock’s “People’s Elbow”. He even threw his sunglasses to the crowd and did The Rock’s signature pose before hitting the move.
No one knows if Snoop was actually supposed to pin The Miz, considering he originally planned to face Shane McMahon. Whatever the case, fans were ecstatic on seeing the 51-year-old rapper fight and beat The Miz. According to the WWE Universe, Snoop Dogg actually saved that segment from embarrassment.
