The ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas has caused numerous casualties on both sides. Rennae Stubbs, former coach of US tennis legend Serena Williams, has shared her views on the devastating Israel-Hamas conflict.
Stubbs strongly criticized Hamas for its recent attack on Israel and expressed her belief that religion is the “world’s worst scam”. Through an Instagram story, Stubbs stated,
“Perhaps an unpopular opinion here, but we can all agree, religion is the world’s worst scam.”
She believes that war and indifference might’ve not existed if not for religion. All this bloodshed would’ve been avoided if humans didn’t believe in faith, she added.
“Strike me down if you will, but if religion didn’t exist, these wars wouldn’t be happening! And if you do believe in a God, he didn’t ask you to engage in such actions!”
On Saturday, October 7, Hamas, identified as a Palestinian Sunni-Islamic fundamentalist and militant organization, conducted an unprecedented assault on Israeli towns near the Gaza Strip.
This bold attack occurred during a Jewish holiday and resulted in multiple fatalities and abductions of civilians.
The onslaught by Hamas has been catastrophic, with at least 250 people dead and 1,500 injured, marking it as the most severe attack in Israel in many years. In retaliation, Israel has launched strikes that have caused at least 232 deaths and injured 1,700 individuals in the Gaza Strip.
“There’s so much others can learn from her,” Rennae Stubbs praises heap for Coco Gauff after her Indian Wells 2R win
Following Coco Gauff’s victory in the 2R of the Indian Wells Open against Clara Burel on Saturday, Rennae Stubbs, who previously coached Serena Williams, was full of appreciation for Coco.
In the match, Gauff allowed Burel nine opportunities to break her serve in the first set, with Burel capitalizing on three to take it 6-2. Gauff then dominated the second set, breaking the French player twice to secure a 6-3 win.
Initially, Burel was leading by four games in the final set. However, Gauff pushed the match to a tiebreak where she clinched six of the first eight points, ultimately securing a 2-6, 6-3, 7-6(4) victory.
Reacting to Gauff’s performance, Stubbs, who had been a coach for Williams in 2023, commended Gauff on social media:
“Gotta hand it to @CocoGauff for finding a way. There’s so much others can learn from her. Despite struggling in various aspects today, her determination never wanes. That’s often more crucial than flawless technique. Heart & composure truly make the difference!”
