As the ATP Finals is scheduled to take place between 12 -19 November in Turin, Rafael Nadal sent his best wishes to Carlos Alcaraz via social media.
The ATP Finals will see the top 8 players from the singles and doubles categories fight for the prestigious Title. Carlos Alcaraz is the second seed going into this tournament.
Carlos Alcaraz is just 20 years old but his achievements so far are no short of a dream. He made his main draw debut in the ATP Tour at the Rio Open in 2020 as a 16-year-old boy. Since then he has won 12 ATP singles Title and 2 Grand Slams. He made his Grand Slam debut at the 2021 Australian Open and won his first Grand Slam at the 2022 US Open.
He rose to prominence at the 2022 Madrid Open when he defeated Rafael Nadal in the quarterfinals, then No.1 Novak Djokovic in the semifinal, and Alexander Zverev in the Finals to clinch the title. He became the first teenager to defeat Nadal, and the youngest player to beat the No.1 since 2004.
He ended 2022 as the No.1 and became the youngest ever to do so. He registered his 100th career win at the 2023 Indian Wells Open which is a milestone reached faster than the Big Three. It has been a great season so far for the Spaniard with 6 titles which include one Major and two Masters Title.
Rafael Nadal was the top seed in the 2022 ATP Finals in Turin. But the 37-year-old has not played any tennis this season since his 2nd round exit from the 2023 Australian Open due to injury. As he is still recovering, he will not feature in this year’s Nitto ATP Finals.
One shared an Instagram post by cincytennis on X, featuring Alcaraz captioned about his success. It was his idol Nadal who commented on the photo by sending him hugs and wishing him good luck for the Finals.

Carlos Alcaraz eyes for Laver Cup debut in Berlin
Carlos Alcaraz who has not played in the Laver Cup to date, has announced his debut in the next edition.
Carlos Alacaraz has been on the ATP Tour since 2021 but is yet to feature in the Laver Cup. The 2023 Laver Cup was the sixth edition of the tournament. Team World won the Cup and defended the title after winning it in 2022 for the first time.
Team Europe for the first time did not have any of the Big Three. The team was weakened by Carlos Alcaraz as he did not participate. Alcaraz has been in good form this season but missed a few tournaments due to injury. But due to his constant featuring in the tournaments, he was tired and took some time to recover and play other important tournaments later. He did not participate in the 2022 Laver Cup for the same reason.
But most importantly he has announced his debut in the 2024 Laver Cup which will take place in Berlin. He will represent Bjorn Borg’s team, Team Europe, and look for redemption.
