Rafael Nadal chose Carlos Alcaraz’s only rival in Tennis right now, he believes that Alcaraz is a special talent and his accomplishments at such a young age set him apart from others.
Former World No.1, Rafael Nadal dropped his take on his compatriot, Carlos Alcaraz’s only rival at the moment. He said that he sees 36-year-old Djokovic as the only real threat to Carlos in tennis right now. ‘El Nino’ also said that Alcaraz holding the number one spot at such an age is a big achievement for him.
“He has been the world number one until recently. Although he’s very young right now, practically the only rival I see for him is Djokovic,” said the 14 time French Open winner.

Alcaraz, on the other hand, has always looked up to his ‘Idol’ Rafa for inspiration whenever he seeks it. Last season when the 20-year-old Spaniard defeated Novak in the Wimbledon final, Rafa was one of the first to congratulate him on his big achievement.
In a tweet response to Carlos’ success, Nadal tweeted :
“Congratulations @carlitosalcarazz . You have given us immense joy today and for sure our pioneer in Spanish tennis, Manolo Santana, has also been cheering wherever he is as a member of Wimbledon whom you have joined today. A very strong hug and enjoy the moment Champion!!! We’re having a great time with our team!”
Rafael Nadal settles the ‘GOAT’ debate himself, says that Novak Djokovic’s achievements are unmatched in Tennis history.
In an interview, Rafael Nadal said there is a foregone conclusion to the ‘GOAT’ debate and credited his arch-nemesis Novak Djokovic for his incredible accomplishments.
The 22-time Grand Slam winner, in an interview with the Spanish sports newspaper, said that he believes the title of ‘GOAT’ based on statistics and numbers has already been concluded, that being Novak Djokovic. He also believes that the numbers are undisputed facts and the rest are just narratives and people’s subjective opinions.
“I believe that numbers are numbers and statistics are statistics. In that sense, I think he has better numbers than mine and that is indisputable. This is the truth. The rest are tastes, inspiration, sensations that one or the other may transmit to you, that you may like one or the other more.”
“I think that with respect to titles, Djokovic is the best in history and there is nothing to discuss about that.”
