On last night’s WrestleMania, Omos was seen backstage, getting a pep talk from The Undertaker before his match with Brock Lesnar.
Although The Undertaker didn’t make an appearance at WrestleMania 39, he was seen backstage, giving The Nigerian Giant some advice, before his big showdown with The Beast Incarnate, Brock Lesnar. This didn’t come as a surprise, considering that Taker has favored Omos in the past.
About a month ago, The Deadman spoke with Alex McCarthy of Sportsmail to discuss All Things WrestleMania 39. There he mentioned that he was really supportive of Omos. According to Taker, Omos is still a developing talent and overall is a great human being. He would lose at the moment because he was the bad guy, but he was like a “sponge” and always wanted to get better at what he does.
Here’s what Undertaker said in the interview:
“I’m really high on Omos. He’s still developing that talent and my gosh what a great human being he is. Actually, I’m killing him off cause he’s a bad guy right now, but he is a really nice human being and he is a sponge, he wants to get better.”
According to The Undertaker, only a few people can do what Omos can do in the ring. As seen in his match with Brock Lesnar, The Nigerian Giant is a force to be reckoned with. Their feud has been going on for almost a month, and Omos had the upper hand in each of their encounters.
What happened in the match between Brock Lesnar vs Omos?
The 7 feet 3 inches tall Omos came on strong, as he dominated The Beast early on in their fight. He overwhelmed Brock with a series of slams. Just as it looked like the match was in his favor, Brock fired back. He landed a couple of German suplexes on The Nigerian Giant. After 3 consecutive German suplexes, The Beast gained control of the match.
He finally put Omos away with a ring-shattering F5 and ended their rivalry for good. This match might not be a 5-star classic but was entertaining from start to finish. This match also proved that Brock signed on to a new deal and will stick around for one more year. Fans might not have seen the end of The Beast after all.
