WWE NXT’s biggest event, NXT Stand And Deliver is all set to take place on April 1, hours before WrestleMania 39.
The latest episode of WWE NXT filled out the Stand And Deliver card, which now stands at 7 matches throughout the show. All of the titles will be on the line, as some of NXT’s best duke it out and have their own version of a “WrestleMania moment”. Let’s take a look at all the match cards and previews, and give our predictions on who we think will win at NXT’s Stand And Deliver.
Johnny Gargano vs Grayson Waller in an Unsanctioned Match
This match has become extremely personal for Gargano, due to Waller ambushing him in his own home, mocking him in front of his wife and son. Waller also “ruined” Gargano’s last match in NXT last year. Johnny Wrestling has been itching ever since, to finally get his hands on Waller and end his rivalry once and for all.
This match had quite the buildup to it, and it would be satisfying to see who emerges victorious. Will Gargano finally get his revenge or will Grayson Waller get another one over Gargano? It’s pretty hard to say, but personally, I think that Gargano has a chance of winning this bout. The babyface defeating the heel after weeks of mockery and humiliation would make for another typical, yet satisfying ending to a long feud.
NXT Championship Match: Bron Breakker vs Carmelo Hayes
A long-awaited title match between the NXT Champion, Bron Breakker, and Carmelo Hayes had been officiated on the March 7th edition of WWE NXT. The two superstars will clash at the main event of Stand And Deliver.
Fans seem to favor Hayes in this match, as they seem to have grown tired of Breakker as the NXT Champ. I’ll have to go with Hayes winning this match. Breakker as the NXT Champ seems to have overstayed his welcome, as this year’s Stand And Deliver will mark almost one year since he became the champ.
NXT North American Championship: Wes Lee vs Dragon Lee vs Ilja Dragunov vs JD McDonagh vs TBD
Chaos has ensued on WWE NXT for weeks, as everyone wants their hands on the North American Championship. Wes Lee had previously declared an open challenge for the championship, but it ended in a brawl in the locker room. Shawn Michaels decided enough was enough, so he and Lee decided the best way to decide his opponent would be to have him face more than one opponent.
So now we have a Fatal Five-Way match for the North American Championship, where Wes Lee would defend his title against Dragon Lee, JD McDonagh, Ilja Dragunov, and one another wrestler(TBD). Who will be the winner of this match? Well, that depends on who the final contender would be.
NXT Women’s Championship Ladder Match: Zoey Stark vs Gigi Dolin vs Tiffany Stratton vs Lyra Valkyria
It seems like WWE is trying to recreate a famous Shawn Michaels storyline with Roxanne Perez, the former NXT Women’s Champ. Perez collapsed after a successful title defense. With Stand And Deliver right around the corner, Michaels took the decision to crown a new NXT Women’s Champ. This is how the match came to be.
Since is has been confirmed that Roxanne’s condition isn’t as bad as initially thought to be, chances are she will be cleared and added to the match. In case that happens, she will most likely retain her title, unless she is getting a call-up to the main roster after WrestleMania.
NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship: Fallon Henley and Kiana James vs. Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre
Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre are definitely an unlikely duo who teamed up together just because they realized that they work better together than against each other. This has although, been mostly the case with NXT Women’s Tag Team Division, and it needs to change.
The tag team title too is in dire need of better teams holding them. It feels like that the only reason Dawn and Fyre were put together, was to take the title from Henley and James.
NXT Tag Team Championship: The Creed Brothers vs Tony D’Angelo and Stacks vs Gallus
This match was initially between The Creed Brothers and Gallus, which was announced in a pre-taped segment. Tony D’Angelo however, barged in and demanded his team be added to the title match.
So now we got a triple threat tag-team match for the NXT Tag Team Championship at Stand And Deliver. According to my prediction, the current champs have a high possibility of retaining their titles.
Schism vs Tyler Bate & Chase U in an Eight-Person Tag Match: Winner gets control of Chase University
This was the latest edition to Stand And Deliver, where Chase U members team up with Tyler Bate to take on Schism members. During a debate, the stakes of this match were raised, when Duke Hudson proposed that if Schism members won the match, Andre Chase will have to give up his ownership of his prestigious Chase University.
This would be an interesting bout, and we place our bets on Team Chase to win the match.
