This award is unique as it is voted by the players themselves from the ones nominated by the ATP. This award is given to a player who throughout the year conducted himself at the highest level of professionalism and integrity, who competed with his fellow players with the utmost spirit of fairness, and who promoted the game through his off-court activities.
Novak Djokovic is often seen losing his cool on the court. He is known for smashing his rackets out of frustrations and has landed in controversies several times.
A fan of Novak Djokovic posted on X, videos of moments when Roger Federer lost his cool on the court. He has taken multiple digs at Roger Federer winning the award 13 times against Novak Djokovic who has not won the award for a single time. According to him, it was not justified for the Swiss to be awarded so many times who have also broken rackets during matches.
A reminder that they told us that Novak Djokovic can’t win this award because he smashes rackets.
