He rallied that most of the world is happy with the fact that Messi won the World Cup and is proud of this achievement.
Djokovic called out the Argentine’s positive side and spoke about his humble and down-to-earth character. He further said that he is a great example to all the children and called him a role model.
“I admire Messi and respect him a lot. I think most of the world is happy with his achievement and what he has managed to do. Him being humble, a down-to-earth guy, not taken away by success. He’s a great example to all the children that look up to him,” Djokovic said.
Novak Djokovic set to begin his 2023 season in Australia
Novak Djokovic didn’t have the best start to the 2022 season. He wasn’t allowed to compete in multiple tournaments due to his vaccination status but towards the end of the year, as things eased up, Djokovic got back in form and won the Paris Masters and also made it to the final of the ATP Finals.
He will start his 2023 season in Australia unlike in 2022 and will play a tune-up tournament before competing at the Australian Open. He will be one of the favorites to win the tournament at Melbourne Park and will look to win his 10th title.
