Ana Ivanovic who retired in 2016, hinted about her possible comeback next season through an Instagram post of her playing tennis. Fans were delighted and hopeful to see their favorite back in court.
Ana Ivanovic is a former professional tennis player from Serbia. She became the World No. 1 in 2008 and held the top ranking for 12 weeks. She won the 2008 French Open and was also the runners-up at the 2007 French Open and the 2008 Australian Open.
She was born in Serbia, Belgrade in 1987. She picked up the racket for the first time at the age of five after drawing inspiration from watching Monica Seles who is also a Yugoslav on television.
Her professional career started in 2003 and she made her debut at Grand Slam in 2004. She reached the semifinal of the French Open in 2015 and in December 2016 she announced her retirement due to her inability to perform at high standards.
A journalist Jose Morgado took to X and shared her Instagram photo where she is seen playing tennis and mentioned his thoughts on Ivanovic’s possible comeback.

Added to the fact that Ana had previously replied to a WTA post with stats of all the top Women’s Tennis players in 2023. Her comment read: “Looking forward to the 2024 season”

Husband Bastian Schweinsteiger plays a banter with Ana Ivanovic on her 36th birthday
A video message to Ana Ivanovic from Bastian Schweinsteiger, where he wishes and jokingly challenges her to beat her in tennis this year had gone viral to which Ana had an interesting reply.
Ana Ivanovic and Bastian Schweinsteiger got married in 2016 and have three children together. Both of them have been successful in their respective sports. Ivanovic retired from tennis in 2016 with a Grand Slam at the French Open and 15 singles titles. Schweinsteiger was the captain of the German football team and led them to victory in the 2014 FIFA World Cup. He retired from professional football in 2019.
Recently he shared a video message on Instagram wishing his wife happy birthday and also said that he would beat her in tennis this year.
