Carlos Alcaraz has expressed his wish to have a “Fedal” rivalry with one of the players from the current tour. And he thinks Jannik might be “the one” that would fulfill his wish.
The fierce rivalry between Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal is one of the most popular rivalries of all time in Tennis. Being the Top 2 players of their era, the matchup between these two was always a legendary one.
Like everyone, Carlos is also a fan of this rivalry and has always appreciated it. He has massive respect for the two players and recently expressed his views on the rivalry.
He says that he has learned a lot of things from this rivalry and it motivates him to become a better player every day.
“What I have learned from this rivalry is that you can never fall behind or give up or settle. You always have to improve, you always have to raise your level. It doesn’t matter if you think that you are at your highest level, that you can’t give more, you can always give a little more,” Alcaraz explained.
“That’s what they have shown for so many years that they have been up there. Every time one of them lost to the other, they tried to be better to win the next time. And they have done it for a long time, which is something incredible and worthy of admiration,” Carlos added.
While he was fanboying over the rivalry, he also conveyed his wish for the same rivalry for himself. And when asked about who the perfect rival would be, he pointed the finger towards Jannik Sinner.
Carlos said, “Hopefully I can have a rivalry like the one they have had. Right now, the way people look at it, it could be with Jannik.”
A new similar rivalry is in the making as things go. Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner have faced each other a total of 8 times and the score is tied with both winning 4 matches each.
Andy Murray: “Watching Carlos Alcaraz play tennis makes me smile”
Tennis superstar Andy Murray recently appreciated his fellow junior on the tour Carlos Alcaraz for his incredible tennis playstyle.
While watching Carlos’ recent matchup against Roberto Baena, Andy was shocked after watching Carlos make plays that looked humanly impossible. Alcaraz defeated Roberto in two straight sets with a 6-2, 6-1 scoreline.
After the match, Andy took it to social media platform X and expressed his love for Carlos.
To which, Alcaraz replied by thanking him for his love and support.
