Novak Djokovic, the Serbian World No. 1 revealed one of his dreams that came true, says he is blessed to have experienced it not once but multiple times now.
The Serbian maestro who currently stands at the top of the tennis helm is often known for his grit and grind style of play and the ‘Never give up’ mentality. However, there’s one additional thing that keeps him spirited and focused, it’s his family. The 24-time Grand Slam champion has spoken on multiple occasions about how his wife and kids’ constant support keeps him motivated.
In an appearance on the CBS’ 60-minute interview, the World No. 1 was questioned about his kids. The interviewer asked Novak how his son Stefan and daughter Tara, who are still quite young, grasped his game and whether they understood the performances their dad was delivering on the court.
To which, the Serbian player replied by pointing out a particular dream of his where he saw his kids watching him win Wimbledon. Djokovic also agreed that his younglings motivate him to be better.
“Yes, it is actually years ago I had a dream that my daughter and my son will be able to watch me win Wimbledon, so that happened several times. I was very fortunate to experience that,” Novak said about his kids being present in the stands for him.

“I should’ve lost in against Roger Federer in 2019,” Novak Djokovic says fate has made it even steven for him after Wimbledon 2023 loss
Novak Djokovic lost the 2023 Wimbledon finals to Spain’s up-and-coming star Carlos Alcaraz. In an emotional post-match speech, Novak would call his loss a karma for him winning the epic 2019 finals against Roger Federer.
The seven-time Wimbledon Champion and 24-time Grand Slam Champion was emotional after his loss against Carlos Alcaraz at the Wimbledon’s final. It was painful for him to lose in the finals specially with his kids and family members in attendance.
“It’s nice to see my son up there, still smiling,” he started by looking up to his son in the stands.
After this, emotions would overwhelm Novak and tears would flow down his cheeks. Novak put his head down, as he tried to muster courage to deliver his speech. He then continued, by remembering the glories of his past triumphs at Wimbledon and would call it on fate for getting one back.
He recalled the iconic clash with Roger Federer from four years ago, where he said he should’ve lost as he was down several match points. But said, it was even now that he had been on the receiving end of a tight encounter.
“As for me, obviously you never like to lose matches like this. But you know, I guess when all the emotions are settled I have to still be very grateful because I won many, many tight and close matches in the past here,” Novak said.
“To name a few, you know, 2019 against Roger in that finals when I was match points down. Maybe I should’ve lost a couple finals that I won, so I think this is even steven,” Djokovic concluded.
