The world no.1, Novak Djokovic reacted to a post on Twitter (X) to shut down the rumors of him buying the club and the legacy of Manolo Santana.
A recent report from the Spanish media house, Antena 3, suggested that Novak Djokovic was in discussion to take over the sporting heritage of the late Manolo Santana which is currently possessed and maintained by his family.
Manuel Santana or Manolo Santana, who passed away in December 2021 was a legendary Spanish player. He is widely famous for his victory against the US in the Davis Cup. In addition to that, he won 3 Grand Slams in the ’70s. Two of them, the US Open and Wimbledon came in a single season (1965).
There was a place very close to Manolo and that place was none other than the Sports Center at Marbella which upon his death has become the responsibility of his widow, Claudia, and his son, Christian.
The article claims that the duo have “destroyed” the premises. Users are not comfortable using the premises and have deemed it dangerous for playing.
The post published on Wednesday, 13th December headlined the article mentioning Novak’s name in the negotiations being made for Santana’s court and its premises.
However, it proved to be mere clickbait as the same report mentioned that only a few wealthy businessmen from Sweden were actually interested in investing in the court’s renovation. The investors want to protect the heritage and legacy of the great Manuel Santana by maintaining the condition of the courts and facilities.
Novak in a very community-note manner (A Twitter Fake News Detector) has denied any association with this takeover. In a very straightforward way, he wrote “Fake News…” while mentioning the original post.

“I guess we need to win 4/4” – Novak Djokovic’s message to his coach following the announcement of COTY
Novak Djokovic took to Instagram to sarcastically comment on the recent revelation of the year-end ATP Awards.
After dominating the tennis world in 2023, claiming three Grand Slam titles and the World No. 1 ranking, Novak certainly had expectations for some additional silverware coming from the ATP awards. But it wasn’t for him, rather, it was for his Croatian coach Goran Ivanišević who has been guiding Novak since 2019.
This week comes in as a double whammy for Nole’s camp, as first, Novak failed to win the Fan Favourite award and then Goran, his coach, missed out on the Coach of the Year. However, Novak did congratulate the winners Darren Cahill and Simone Vagnozzi, the coaching team representing Jannik Sinner.
Novak wrote on his IG story congratulating the coaches :
“Congratulations to Darren and Simone for a great season with Jannik.”
“Goran, I guess we need to win 4/4 Slams in order for you to maybe(just maybe) be considered coach of the year. winning Year End #1, 3 GS and WTF and making history of this sport is not enough, my dear coach… 😬😬😬”
