Dominic Thiem recently posted a photo on Instagram with his newest member of the family. And you guessed it right, it’s a pet dog.
Dominic Thiem is enjoying his off-season time after he last played at the Rolex Paris Masters in October. He had an early exit after losing to Holger Rune in the second round even after he got off to a good start defeating Stan Wawrinka in the first round.
The member is a newborn puppy, named ‘Pipo’. Tennis fans are in awe of ‘Pipo’ and are commenting on the photo. Thiem’s love for dogs is evident from his Instagram handle which has about 1.4 million followers. He has earlier posted photos with his other members of the dog family.
In a post from January 2018, he was seen running with his dog ‘Hugo’. 2021 was a disappointing year for Thiem as he struggled with multiple injuries and was out of action for most of the season. He had to withdraw from the Tokyo Olympics, the Wimbledon Open, and then from the rest of the season due to a wrist injury.
In September of that year, he posted a photo where he was seen playing with his dog. The post received huge compliments for the dog and also received wishes for his return to tennis.
“I don’t understand how I got a bad personality” – When Serena Williams defended herself against Dominic Thiem’s accusations
It was during the 2019 French Open when Thiem was in the middle of a press conference and he was asked to leave the room to make way for Williams. Thiem later accused Williams of having a bad personality in an interview with Eurosport Germany.
Serena Williams commented on the matter and said that she herself ‘begged’ for a small room. She agreed to the fact that pulling Thiem out was rude.
She added that she spoke about the incident with Thiem as she was ‘too old’ to be in a controversy. She also stated that Thiem didn’t use the words ‘bad personality’ and that the media mixed up his words.
“Actually stuck up for the guy, I don’t understand how I got a bad personality for telling them what they did was wrong to him. But we spoke about it. I’ve always liked him. I still like him. He’s a great, like player. I mean, he’s unbelievable.”
