In a recent interview, Carlos Alcaraz, one of the best players and talents in the tennis circuit has marked his biggest rivals for the year. Says Novak Djokovic and Jannik Sinner are the ones who have differentiated themselves from the pack as his biggest rivals.
The Spaniard who has been named the first seed for the ongoing Argentina Open gave an interview to the BATennis organization in which he revealed his plans, his biggest rivals, and his preparation for competing in this year’s Olympics.
In the interview, Alcaraz revealed that current World No. 1 Novak Djokovic and newly crowned Australian Open champion Jannik Sinner are his biggest rivals this year. He said that these two pose the most difficult challenges for him in his path to glory for the Olympics and the remainder of the season.
He also name-dropped Alexander Zverev who defeated him in the quarter-finals of the Australian Open as another major rival who has had the upper hand against him in their recent matches.
“I think Djokovic and Sinner are the rivals to beat, there is no doubt, both for me and for everyone. Zverev also has the winning H2H against me, he is a rival that I have very much in mind, but I do think that Djokovic and Sinner are at the top right now,” the Spaniard pointed out his rivals for this year.
Alcaraz starts his title defense in The Argentina Open in the Round of 16 after being granted a bye in the RO32. He will be expecting either Juan Varillas or challenger Camilo Carabelli in the Round of 16 match.

Jannik Sinner went in favor of his Spanish rival Carlos Alcaraz over World No. 1 Novak Djokovic in a choose ‘This or That’ game.
In an interview with Sky Sports, the Italian tennis sensation, Sinner picked Alcaraz over No. 1 Djokovic in a ‘This or That’ game. The Italian, who just recently defeated Novak in the Australian Open finals hadn’t won a single game against the Serb till that interview. But, his recent stint against him has been a phenom, ‘Kryptonite’ Sinner has got the best of Novak in three of the last four outings with the Serb.
With Alcaraz, however, the Italian boasted a competitive 4-3 head-to-head score against his Spanish rival which currently stands at 4-4 in February 2024. Their last match came in the China Open’s semi-final where Sinner defeated Alcaraz in straight sets to advance into the Finals.
