At just 20 years old, Carlos Alcaraz has already secured titles at both the US Open and Wimbledon, attaining the No. 1 world ranking. He is widely regarded as the primary contender to challenge the reigning world No. 1, Novak Djokovic, in the year 2024 by the Tennis Community.
Now Corretja has come out to show his support for Alcaraz, he believes in the Spaniard’s skills and his ability to excel across various playing surfaces in the years ahead.
In an interview with Eurosport, Corretja emphasized his long-standing belief in Alcaraz’s future dominance, stating
“I’ve said it a long time ago, I think Alcaraz is going to win all the Grand Slams on all surfaces, even the Masters. I think he is going to be a player who is going to win all the titles practically possible and it is because of the way he plays, his ambition, and his character.”
He further supported his comments by highlighting that Alcaraz is playing tennis at a very high level and is destined for greatness.
“I think his tennis is very high. So it seems to me that Alcaraz is destined to be one of the special ones.”
Corretja anticipates the Spaniard to have an excellent performance in the upcoming Australian Open. He mentions that the tournament aligns exceptionally well with Alcaraz’s strengths. Corretja believes a healthy and well-prepared Alcaraz can go all the way to the finals and win the championship. He quotes:
“I think the Australian Open is a perfect fit for Alcaraz because of the conditions, because of the way the ball bounces, because it can be hot, because of night sessions where there is a kind of atmosphere that’s dramatic.”
Looking forward to the next season, Corretja anticipates Roland-Garros to be a significant goal for Alcaraz. Reminding of the previous season where Carlos had to retire in the Semis, he says
“To me, winning a Grand Slam would make it a very good season, I think that this year, for example, Roland Garros is going to be a very big goal for him. After what happened last year (retirement against Djokovic), I think he will manage it differently. He will have less anxiety and he’ll be wanting to get to Paris to win because he knows that it is a very long Grand Slam.”

Corretja believes that the young bull is poised to make a mark on the international tennis stage, provided he navigates the challenges and opportunities presented by each tournament.
Carlos Alcaraz to feature without main coach Juan Carlos Ferrero in the Australian Open
Recent reports reveal that the World No. 2 will be entering into the first Grand Slam of the year without coach Ferrero.
According to a recent report from Spanish Newspaper Marca, Juan Carlos Ferrero is set to be absent from the 2024 Australian Open. This unfortunate news is a huge setback for Carlos Alcaraz and his supporters.
