Aryna Sabalenka’s current boyfriend and Ex-NHL winger Konstantin Kolstov was announced dead in Miami at the age of 42.
Women’s World No. 2 was left in shock after she received the news of her beloved boyfriend’s untimely demise on 18th March 2024. Aryna Sabalenka was up for her next challenge at the Miami Open when this incident occurred.
After a thorough police investigation, Miami police revealed the cause of death to be “death by suicide.” According to investigators, they had rushed to the hotel where the former NHL pro was living before he jumped from a balcony.
“The Miami-Dade Police Department, Homicide Bureau, responded and has taken over the investigation of the apparent suicide of Mr. Konstantin Koltsov (04/17/1981). No foul play is suspected.” -The report from the police read.
Konstantin was currently an assistant coach for the Salavat Yulaev Ufa Hockey Club. The club announced his demise but did not disclose the reason for his death.
The Kontinental Club issued a statement that stated, “It is with deep sorrow that we inform you that the coach of Salavat Yulaev, Konstantin Koltsov, passed away.”
“He was a strong and cheerful person, he was loved and respected by players, colleagues, fans. Konstantin Evgenievich [has] forever written himself in the history of our club,” the club paid their homage to their assistant coach.
However, there has been no official statement as of yet from his girlfriend Aryna Sabalenka. Tennis World No. 2, Sabalenka and his boyfriend Kolstov officially started dating in June 2021 and were about to complete 3 years of togetherness.

Kolstov got her a gold chain with a tiger pendant. Sabalenka was very happy with the gift and took to social media to flaunt her new piece of jewelry to the world.
She uploaded a photo of the necklace on her Instagram story which read, “Valentine’s Day was quite successful for me, but not for Kostantin Koltsov.”
The tiger on the pendant was because of Aryna’s love for tigers. She also has two tattoos of Tigers on her body to express her love for her favorite animal.
