Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal has broken another record this season. It is the very first when Arsenal have won 9 of their opening 10 games of a top-flight league season in the club’s 136-year history.
Since Arsene Wenger left the Gunners, the performance graph on the team also went down. Arsenal last participated in the UEFA Champions League in 2017. And since then, they had to make peace with UEFA Europa League.
But this time, it finally feels like the Gunners will get to play in the biggest continental competition for clubs the next Summer after a huge gap of fine years.
Arsenal have won nine of the ten initial games in the Premier League this season. They have scored 24 goals and conceded 10 goals, keeping four clean sheets.
Arsenal vs. Leeds United
Playing against Leeds United, Aaron Ramsdale provided a brilliant display against the strikers of the Whites. The Goalkeeper was in brilliant form against Leeds United.
And another thing to notice in the match was the brilliant defence that was shown from the side of the Gunners. William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhães, Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu provided a great performance in front of Aaron Ramsdale.
Bukayo Saka found the back of the net for the Gunners in the first half after he finds Rodrigo off guard. Playing a one-two with Martin Odegaard, Saka’s effort went straight into the top corner.
Jesse Marsch’s side are now winless in their last six matches, having last tasted victory back in August when they saw off Chelsea 3-0 at Elland Road. And they’ll next face Leicester City in their next match.
“It’s always hectic at Leeds but we found a way to win. And this was a special win. We made too many mistakes, and failed to close the game in the first half but credit to Leeds in the second half. They were really, really good but I love the resilience, the fight, the character and the courage my team showed. We found a way to win.” Mikel Arteta said about the match.
