American entertainer Andy Kaufman was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2023 recently.
WWE announced another huge name to be inducted into the Hall of Fame class of 2023, already inducted Rey Mysterio and The Great Muta earlier, WWE inducted Andy Kaufman into the Hall of Fame class of 2023.
WHO IS ANDY KAUFMAN?
Being a part of the hit sitcom “Taxi”, Kaufman even had a rivalry with Jerry Lawler in the early 1980s.
He became even more popular with the wrestling audience when he introduced himself as the Inter-gender wrestling champion, offering money to any woman who could pin her which ignited a spark between him and Jerry Lawler and started their legendary feud.
With Kaufman as a heel, and Lawler as a face, both of them perfected their characters and put on a show for everyone with kayfabe at its peak at that time, this rivalry attracted a lot of eyeballs and was the talk of the town which made Kaufman even more popular. The duo even appeared on Late Night with David Letterman.
It is rumored that Jerry Lawler will be honoring Kaufman and will be present for him at the Hall of Fame Ceremony. But because of his health conditions, it may or may not happen.

With such an extraordinary life, a movie was also made on Kaufman’s life and his work ‘Man on the Moon’ with Jim Carrey playing as Andy Kaufman and Jerry Lawler being himself, the movie was released in 1999.
According to many people, Jim Carrey might appear on behalf of Kaufman to honor his great legacy at the WWE Hall of Fame Ceremony.
The WWE Hall of fame ceremony will be aired a day before Wrestlemania Day 1 and will be honoring legends like Rey Mysterio, Muta, and now, Andy Kaufman.
