Novak Djokovic lists down his goals and ambitions for the 2024 season. He expressed great confidence as he outlined his goals for next year.
One of the greatest players of all time, Novak Djokovic, is all set to challenge himself again in the new season as he aims to soar to new heights. While he featured in every Grand Slam finals in 2023 and won the ATP Finals last season, he wishes to make new records in this season.
The Serbian maestro listed out his bucket list for 2024. The list included winning more Grand Slams, the Davis Cup, and being an Olympic Gold medallist among others.
“I mentioned a little bit, I mean, five minutes ago, that Grand Slams, Olympic Games, hopefully I can win another medal for Serbia in the Olympics. I would love to do that. That’s one of the highest goals for this year.”
He further added that it isn’t unrealistic for him to think about or manifest his goals. While some might take his confidence for arrogance, Novak believes that it doesn’t bother him much.
“Might seem unrealistic or impossible to some. It might seem arrogant to some others. I don’t know.”
The 36-year-old also chimed in with reasons and made a big statement about his ‘peak form’ capabilities. He also believes that he’s capable of breaking more records and achieving a higher peak this season.
“I’ve always believed in myself very strongly. I know that I’m a very all-around player. When I’m fit, when I’m at the peak of my performance, I can win any Slam or any tournament. I know that. I’m not afraid to say that.”
“It’s not a secret that I want to break more records and make more history of the game. That’s something that keeps on motivating me.”
Novak Djokovic mentions Australia as his ‘Happy Place’
There’s one person who comes to mind when tennis fans hear the word ‘Australian Open’, Novak Djokovic. The man who has dominated the hard court surface in the land down under for over a decade now.
Novak Djokovic is the most successful singles player in the competition’s history, winning a record 10 times. He’s currently on a mind-boggling 43-match unbeaten win streak in Australia.
The Serb has only lost 10 times total in Australia, boasting a record of 111 total wins to 10 losses. At this point, most will agree that he’s the greatest tennis player to ever step foot in Australia.
The World No. 1, spoke about his ‘happy place’ i.e. Australia, and shared his previous experiences being in the host country.
He also mentioned that except for the COVID-19 and vaccination incident in 2022, which were a letdown for him as he wasn’t able to participate, Australia has been very kind to him.
“Always felt like it was my happy place where I felt great, other than that situation two years ago where obviously it wasn’t really enjoyable.”
“But other than that, I have always enjoyed myself, played the best tennis, and so my feelings coming into Australia this year are really positive.”
