The 80-year-old Ferguson showed up at the soccer field to congratulate Ronaldo on scoring his 700th club goal last week.
As they hugged and smiled for photos, the two men were beaming.
After, the 37-year-old Ronaldo uploaded the images along with a sweet statement on his Instagram account.
“Always good to be with you boss,” Cristiano Ronaldo wrote.
The post gained an astounding 3.5 million likes in only a few hours, and both guys could feel the support of Man United supporters all around the world.
In 2003, Ferguson welcomed a young Ronaldo to Manchester.

Ferguson ran into his former No. 1 David de Gea on the sidelines.
Fergie was an appropriate choice to give the Spaniard an award of his own for playing an astonishing 500 games for United. Fergie served as the Spaniard’s manager during his first two seasons at Old Trafford.
De Gea won the 2013 Premier League championship under Ferguson.
