Rennae Stubbs, former coach of Serena Williams recently blasted Pope Francis and the Vatican for their bold move to call for a ‘Global Ban on Surrogacy’ on the grounds of Global Peace and Human Dignity.
Pope Francis, the leader of The Catholic Church made these remarks in a speech to the ambassadors of the Holy See in the annual foreign policy address. He called the actions ‘despicable’ as motherhood is a holy practice that should not be up for ‘commercialization’.
Pope Francis included ‘surrogate motherhood’ in his list of threats to global peace and human dignity, which also included global issues such as conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza, the climate crisis, and challenges related to migration and asylum.
“I deem deplorable the practice of so-called surrogate motherhood, which represents a grave violation of the dignity of the woman and the child, based on the exploitation of situations of the mother’s material needs.”
He said that a child is a ‘gift’ and not a product that needs ‘commercialization’.
“A child is always a gift and never the basis of a commercial contract.”
This caused a global outrage, especially, in the LGBTQ community that relies heavily on Surrogacy to foster their kids.
Rennae Stubbs, a proud member of the LGBTQ community, showed her rage on the matter in her Instagram story on Tuesday.
“No words! 😡,” Stubbs wrote on her stories citing a post on the topic.

Rennae Stubbs recently mocked her thoughts on the disagreement between Jelena Ostapenko and chair umpire Julie Kjendlie during the quarter-final match at the Brisbane International.
The incident unfolded in the final set of the quarter-final match between Ostapenko and Victoria Azarenka. A disputed double bounce call from the chair umpire caused Ostapenko to lose her cool. Among them was former Serena Williams’ coach Rennae Stubbs. She took to Twitter to express her disappointment in the Latvian star’s actions. She said :
“Umpire Julie Kjnedlie must just look at her schedule when she gets Ostapenko and say “oh bloody hell”… seriously does she know what a double bounce actually is????? 😂”
