Jo Wilfried Tsonga said that every player on the ATP tour parties whenever the time is appropriate including the likes of Djokovic and Nadal.
Jo Wilfried Tsonga is a French tennis player who played professional tennis for close to two decades. He won 18 ATP singles titles and his best performance in a Grand Slam event came at the 2008 Australian Open where he finished as the runners-up. He retired from tennis at his home major the 2022 French Open.
In a recent podcast with the Generation Do It Yourself, the former Australian Open finalist revealed that he has seen all tennis players partying including the likes of Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal.
“Is it possible to have big parties and have fun when you’re a professional? Seriously, maybe I shouldn’t say it, but seriously….I have seen them all, don’t let anyone tell me anything. Djokovic, Nadal……I’ve seen everyone.”

He mentioned that the players party when the time is appropriate and avoid during tournaments. The French tennis player justified how it is important for the players to have fun sometimes to keep going as they are out on tour for the most part of the year.
“You just have to do it at the appropriate times, not during a tournament. It’s not ideal, you have to be honest, but to keep the circuit going for 40 weeks, going around the world for 15 years, you have to have fun and enjoy it from time to time.”

‘There was a period where he didn’t want to be himself’ – Jo Wilfried Tsonga on Novak Djokovic
In a recent podcast with Generation Do It Yourself, Jo Wilfried Tsonga opined that there was a time when the Serbian legend Novak Djokovic was not himself and wanted to emulate the likes of Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.
“I think there was a period where he didn’t want to be himself. He wanted to be Roger Federer or Rafael Nadal. Maybe he should have remained himself all the time.”

He further mentioned that people now appreciate Djokovic as he is completely honest with himself and divisive at the same time.
“Nowadays, it is completely honest and at the same time divisive. Although Djokovic is sometimes talked about in a controversial way, that is the main reason why he is appreciated by some people.”
