Felix Auger Aliassime is the highest-ranked Canadian tennis player. He has won five ATP titles in his career so far. 2022 was the year for him as he reached his career-best ranking of No.6 in 2022 and also led Canada to the Davis Cup title.
He has been impressive in his short career so far though he is still short of a Grand Slam title. His best results in Grand Slams came at the 2021 US Open where he reached the semifinals. He is the third player in history who pushed Rafael Nadal to the decider in the French Open.
This year he has struggled with form and injuries. He faced first-round exits in three Grand Slams and also couldn’t qualify for the Nitto ATP Finals. Towards the end of the season, he had some success as he won the Swiss Indoors in Basel defeating Hubert Hurkacz in the finals.
It was also where he got his first win against a top-10 player. He defeated Holger Rune on his way to the finals.
But, this was not enough as he dropped out of the top 25 and ended the season as the No.29 player. While his batchmates have all entered the Top 10 level, he has encountered a huge pitfall.
📊🎾 Félix Auger-Aliassime has regained his confidence by winning the Basel tournament after a challenging year. Will he have enough energy to beat Struff, who has suffered 5 losses in his last 6 matches ?

The Canadian tennis player who could not play his best tennis this year believes that he can compete with the current top players and beat them once he is back to form. He expressed his confidence in a recent interview and wants to start the upcoming 2024 season on a positive note.
He even expressed how he is not different from his current favorite youngster Sinner. He compares his 2022 tour with Sinner’s 2023 run and claims that he achieved some things before Sinner came into the picture.
-Felix Auger Aliassime“I don’t have the feeling of having missed the train. I managed to do things before Sinner, he managed others before me. He had a very good year, especially starting in Beijing, a bit like me last year. I have always had rivalries and adversity. I’m focused on what I have to do and I still have the belief that I can compete with all these players.”
On the other hand, Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, and Holger Rune are often called the next ‘Big Three’ for their standalone performances, especially when the opponent is Novak Djokovic.
Hence Felix has a lot of work to do to make his sayings come to life and prove himself against the current Top 10 players who are in impeccable form.
