Novak Djokovic’s former coach Nikola Pilic said in an interview that two of all the tennis records will remain unattainable.
According to Novak Djokovic, he had one of the best years if not the best year in 2023 winning three out of four Grand Slams, and also reached the final of the fourth, won the ATP Finals, and finished the year as the World No.1.
Pilic has been very open about some tennis records which according to him will remain unattainable. Pilic feels that the Serbian’s 400 weeks as No.1 will remain unreachable. Another record that he feels will remain unreachable is the fourteen French Open Titles held by Rafael Nadal.
I keep saying that there are two records, in my understanding of tennis, are unattainable, those are Nadal’s 14 Titles at Roland Garros and Novak’s 400 weeks in first place which will be 410 until the Australian Open. I have been watching tennis for 65 years and these are all-time records.
– Pilic in an interview
In a recent interview, Pilic stated that Djokovic has established himself as one of the best players in the history of tennis considering his records.
“Since last year I have been repeating that Nole is the GOAT and I will repeat and say that until everyone starts talking about it”, Djokovic said.
Pilic also stated that the opponent hardly matters for the 36-year-old player. His focus and mental strength keep him at another level and still gives all other players a run for their money.
Of the 20 or 21 tournaments that Djokovic plays in a year, five or six tournaments he plays in sixth gear, and when he plays like that it doesn’t even matter who is on the other side. He showed that he is still above Alcaraz and Sinner and that is primarily because of his mental strength and self-confidence.

Djokovic recently won the ATP Finals in Turin defeating Jannik Sinner in straight sets in the finals. Having won 3 Grand Slams a year number of times he aims to win all four Grand Slams and also the Olympic Gold medal next year.
Jim Courier and Nick Kyrgios predict Novak Djokovic as the 2024 Australian Open winner
Nick Kyrgios and Jim Courier predicted Novak Djokovic as the 2024 Australian Open winner.
It was in an episode with Tennis Channel where Kyrgios and Courier were asked to give their prediction.
Jim Courier feels that Djokovic who has 10 Australian Open titles will win the title next year as well. He feels that Djokovic’s run at the Australian Open is on par with Rafael Nadal at Roland Garros.
Betting against Novak in Australia has almost become like betting against Rafa at Roland Garros. Rafa fourteen times on the dirt, in Australia, it’s ten times for Djokovic and he didn’t show us anything today or this week that’s going to dissuade I think any of us from thinking that.
– Jim Courier with Tennis Channel
Nick Kyrgios agreed with Jim Courier and stated that Djokovic has become untouchable after this year’s Australian Open.
Yeah, boring predictions for me. I think, Novak as well. He’s so comfortable in Australia and after last year, he was basically untouchable as well. No signs of slowing down, so I’m going with Novak as well.
