Former Ukrainian tennis star, who is currently active in defending his country from the Russian invasion, took to social media to share a few screenshots of his chats with Serbian tennis stars- Viktor Troicki and Janko Tipsarevic.
The Russians invaded Ukraine in February and Stakhovsky took up arms to defend his country. He joined his country’s military reserves and took to the fight. Ever since then, he has been appealing to the world to stand against the Russian atrocities and has updated the world about the pain Ukrainians are going through.
He has been very actively rallying for international support for the Ukrainians. This time, he called out Serbian tennis stars Viktor Troicki and Janko Tipsarevic after they made a public appearance in Russia. They played an exhibition event in the country which did not go well with Stakhovsky.
He reached out to the two players through chat and expressed his disappointment in them for playing in Russian just for money. Stakhovsky’s criticism didn’t do well with the two Serbs as they slammed him back, calling him an ‘Instagram freedom fighter’.
Sergiy Stakhovsky gets called out by the fans for breaching privacy
Sergiy Stakhovsky’s main motive for making the chats public was to let the world know what the Serbians think about Russia and Ukraine but to his dismay, his cards didn’t fall in the right place. He himself got called out on social media for victimizing himself and using a sensitive matter to gain publicity.
Fans were also very upset with him because he breached the privacy of both Viktor Troicki and Janko Tipsarevic after he made their private chats, public. Stakhovsky had already called out ATP and the WTA earlier and he was criticized a lot for playing the victim card.
