As the FIFA World Cup will be in action from 20th November, WWE has also found a way to capitalise on the opportunity.
WWE has announced that they'll run a "World Cup" on next week's SmackDown.
We have seen a similar thing like that in 2018.
And it was just a bizarre failure as Shane McMahon won the tournament.
It is said that he was never booked to do so but he defeated Dolph Ziggler in the final, taking the place of the Miz.
That tournament was treated like a standard 8-man single elimination style bracket without any real affiliation with the country the wrestlers represent.
But nothing about next week's Friday night SmackDown World Cup is revealed until now.
WWE also announced that next week’s SmackDown will feature The New Day will challenging for the tag team titles and Santos Escobar vs. Shinsuke Nakamura.
