He has requested that the media avoid from asking about the interview with his Portugal players.
The five-time Ballon d'Or winner made a surprise appearance at a press conference on Monday.
He address journalists about the controversy before Portugal's opening game on Thursday.
Cristiano Ronaldo said, "Stop asking my teammates about me. Ask them about the World Cup. I don't care what other people think. I speak when I want to.
He said, "Sometimes you write truths, sometimes you write lies. I don’t have to worry what others think".
CR7 further said, "I talk when I want to. Everybody knows who I am, what I believe in".
Portugal's first game is against Ghana on Thursday, followed by matches against Uruguay and South Korea in Group G.
