7 Longest Reigning WWE Champions

7. CM Punk, WWE Championship, 434 days

CM was the title holder from November 2011 to January 2013. Afterwards, he lost the title against The Rock. Punk defended his title against Superstars such as John Cena and Randy Orton during his title reign.

6. Roman Reigns, WWE Universal Championship, 780 days and counting

He's the only WWE Superstar who's currently active in the wresting business. No one expected him to reach such numbers but his group, Bloodline has rescued him several times against various opponents.

5. Pedro Morales, WWWF Championship, 1,027 days

Highly Underrated Latino wrestler Pedro Morales has accomplished a lot in the business. He also had a lengthy title reign of nearly three years from February 1971 to December 1973.

4. Bruno Sammartino, WWWF Championship, 1,237 days

After losing the title in 1971, Bruno Sammartino clinched the title again in December 1973 and went on to carry it until April 1977. And interestingly it was his only second title reign.

3. Hulk Hogan, WWF Championship, 1,474 days

Hulk was a wrestling maestro during his time in WWE. His almost four year long spell came to an end when Ted Ted DiBiase bribed the referee Earl Hebner in order to help Andre the Giant win.

2. Bob Backlund, WWWF Championship, 2,135 days

Another majestic spell was done by Bob Backlund. He was utterly an unlikely candidate for the prize initially. But after defeating Greg Valentine in 1981, he grasped the title for a sum of six huge years.

1. Bruno Sammartino, WWWF Championship, 2,803 days

Bruno Sammartino initially won his world championship at a May 1963 house show and no one was able to take it away from him until January 1971. And most probably, anything like that will never happen in WWE again.
